The Federal Government of Nigeria recently gave a report of the stability recorded in the Niger Delta region of the country as the oil-rich region has experienced near zero vandalism/rupturing of pipelines arising from militant activities in the past three (3) months. The stability witnessed thus far has been attributed to sustained engagement with the host communities to ensure the security and protection of infrastructure, as well as with international oil companies to take more responsibility for securing assets in the region. The Ministry of Petroleum is continuously working towards achieving its objectives of increased peace, stability, security and zero record of vandalism in the region in 2017.
